
ANNUAL MEETING OF JESUS IS LORD MISSION, JUNE 6, 2007
According to the Constitution and Bylaws (www.jilmission.org) of the JESUS IS LORD MISSION SOCIETY:
The Steering Committee (Present Elected Officers) has determined that this year's Annual Meeting of the Society will be held Wednesday, June 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Zion Lutheran Church, Walburg, Texas.
This Ballot represents your opportunity to vote. To be effective, it must be completed and returned in the enclosed envelope on or before June 4.
WHAT FOLLOWS:
RATIFICATION OF MISSION PROJECTS (2007-2008)
Complete descriptoin of projects will be available on the JILM website - www.jilmission.org - May 10.
In the first fifty-eight months of our history (July 1, 2002, to April 30, 2007) we have gathered almost $700,000 for mission projects in Afghanistan, India, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Russia, Guinea West Africa, Cambodia, the Philippines, the Sudan and for training workers for ethinc ministry in the United States.
The Steering Committee, working with LCMS World Mission, has committed Jesus Is Lord Mission to the following projects and faith financial commitment for next fiscal year, July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008..

ELECTIONS
The Bylaws, (ARTICLE 5 OFFICERS, A) state: "The members of the Society shall elect, at the Annual Meeting of the Society, by majority vote, the following officers: President, Vice President/Secretary, Treasurer, and four Members-at-Large. The President and two Members-at-Large shall be elected in even numbered years: the Vice President/Secretary, Treasurer and two Members-at-large shall be elected in odd numbered years. Officers are elected to two-year terms and may serve no more than two consecutive terms."

TREASURER: Mr. James Albers has served as Treasurer of the Society since its beginning and is not eligible for re-election. The Steering Committee proposes that Mr. Milton Liese (Elected as Member-at-Large in 2006 for a one-year term) vacate his position as a Member-at-Large adn be elected as Treasurer (unopposed).

Brian Bibler: Lives in Belton, Texas. Married (Marty). Graduate of Bowling Green State University (Ohio). Brian worked in retail marketing until, at age 37, he began his studies at Concordia Seminary, Fort Wayne. Upon graduation served as a Missionary-at-Large, startingKing of Kings Lutheran Church, Elgin, Illinois. He began his present ministry as Associate Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Temple, Texas, in 1995. Brian has a passion for the mission. He has helped Immanuel organize adult mission trips to Mexico. "Marty and I joined JILM because we have a heart for missions. It really bothered us, a few years ago, hwen the Synod dramatically cut funds going toward missions. It is hard for me to fathom with my business background why the first place of church cuts is its very life-blood for reaching lost people. I would like to serve on the Steering Committee of JILM because outreach is my passion. It is still what drives me and keeps me focused as a pastor."
Darrell Heald: Darrell lives in Georgetown, Texas. He and his wife Terri - children Macey and Madison - are members of Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, majoring in Industrial Distribution. In 1991 he began working ofr a then-small company name Texas Corrugators - a company that manufactures roadside safety products. He became a partner/owner in 1992. LCMS all of his life, he most recently served as an Elder at Zion Lutheran. "My wife and I joined the Jesus Is Lord Mission Society because we wanted Jesus' saving grace to be heard and taught to the ends of the earth. I would like to serve on the Steering Committee because I feel the desire to serve my Lord and I believe I have the gift of communicating with others."

PROPOSED BY-LAW CHANGE:
The following proposed By-law change would give the Steering Committee (seven elected members) the opportunity to appoint two additional Members-at-Large to the Steering Committee (nine total). This ability to "appoint to office" would provide the Steering Committee both the flexibility and the opportunity to involve interested and talented people in the leadership of hte Jesus Is Lord Mission Society.
ARTICLE 5 OFFICERS would read (Proposed By-law change in italics):
A. The members of the Society shall elect, at the Annual Meeting of the Society, by majority vote, the following officers: President, Vice-President/Secretary, Treasurer, and four Member-at-Large. The President and two Members-at-Large shall be elected in even-numbered years; the Vice-President/Secretary, Treasurer and two Members-at-Large shall be elected in odd-numbered years. Officers are elected to two-year terms and may serve no more than two consecutive terms.
B. The Officers shall considtutue the Steering Committee of the Society and shall conduct the affairs of hte Society between Annual Meetings.
C. The Steering Committee may "appoint to office" two additional Members-at-Large. Those "appointed to office" shall serve one-year terms, from Annual Meeting to Annual Meeting, and shall serve no more than two consecutive terms.
D. The Steering Committee shall serve as the nominating committee ... ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE BY-LAWS REMAIN UNCHANGED.

Recommendation: That the Bylaws ARTICLE 5 OFFICERS be amended to include the incerted new point C. The Steering Committee may "appoint to office" two additional Members-at-Large. Those "appointed to office" shall serve one-year terms, from Annual Meeting to Annual Meeting, and shall serve no more than two consecutive terms.
