Field Description: Now that the first class of seminary graduates is completing their probationary period, the Lanka Lutheran Church is looking to conduct interviews for a new class of seminary students. In this case, they have the advantage of a group of 12 young men who have had two years of training and church planting experience through the UEMI. There has been a great deal of interest from the youth of the congregations, so they are considering making this class as large as 20 students. Dr. Robert Roegner has challenged the LLC to have a ministry on 200 of the 500 plantations of the region by 2017, and the training of these workers is a central part of their strategy to reach that goal.
